An AA 4 star family run guesthouse for very high quality bed and breakfast. Elm Tree Lodge is but a few minutes walk from the town centre.

The guesthouse, which has recently been upgraded, is furnished to the highest standards. We have 2 double en suite rooms, a twin en suite and a double room with private use of a luxury bathroom (with walk in shower fitted with shower tower and body jets) - so you can be assured of a very exclusive stay with us.

We have recently installed high quality stylish digital flatscreen televisions in all the rooms, we have secure password protected WiFi and off street parking.

We use free range eggs, locally bought produce where possible and Fairtrade products to ensure that what goes on your plate is, in terms of taste and quality, the finest available.

You will not be disappointed. See http://www.elmtreelodge-keswick.co.uk for further details.

The Guest House is managed by Everest summiteer Tim Mosedale who is also a rock climbing instructor. Check out http://www.timmosedale.co.uk for details about the rock climbing, map reading and scrambling courses that he runs. For those with a more adventurous spirit Tim also runs an annual trip to a big mountain in the Everest region of Nepal called Ama Dablam (see http://www.timmosedale.co.uk/ama_dablam/ama_dablam_2010.htm).

Location

Approaching from Junction 40 off the M6 (Penrith).

After 17 miles come off the A66 (first exit for Keswick) and head in to Keswick town centre. You'll pass a garage on the left (BP), then the postal depot, then an ambulance depot. Continue for another 250 metres and there is a left turn immediately before the pedestrian crossing. Turn left here and then immediately left on to Southey Street.

Head along Southey Street and take the 3rd left (Helvellyn Street).

Take the 1st right (Leonard Street) and we are the 3rd property on the right.

Parking - You are more than welcome to use the drive for parking (there is room for 2 cars). However, we ask that you park as close to our property as possible as there is pedestrian access for some local residents along our drive. There is room for 2 cars (one in front of the other), but if 2 vehicles are parked then the 1st will be blocked in by the 2nd. If you don't envisage using your vehicle during your stay then this is not a problem - but if you want to go for a drive then you'll need to mention this to other guests at breakfast so that cars can be moved as appropriate.
