Beckstones Farm Guest House

Beneath the forest and looking out over green fields to the magnificent mountain scenery of SKiddaw and the Helvellyn range, Beckstones is peacefully situated off the beaten track and within a short stroll of Bassenthwaite Lake.

We invite you to join us in our friendly Georgian farmhouse, built in the traditional Lakeland style. Beckstones offers comfortable en-suite bedrooms with panoramic views. The rooms have central heating, hostess trays and are comfortably furnished with a farmhouse feel.

A hearty English breakfast is served in our beamed dining room and we have a comfortable television lounge. Good food is available a five minute drive away in the hotel and pubs of Braithwaite.

Beckstones has a large garden with lawns and a variety of flowers and shrubs and there is ample parking. We see red squirrels scampering across the garden and the ospreys nest a mile away. An RSPB bird hide is a ten minute walk away on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake.

Beckstones is an excellent base for walking and touring. The bustling tourist town of Keswick with its many eating places, cinema, leisure amenities and Theatre by the Lake is a ten minute drive.

We also offer self catering apartments with panoramic views.

Location

Thornthwaite is a quiet little village with a church and a gallery. Beckstones is a 1/4 mile outside of the village.

Leave the M6 at J40 (Penrith) and follow the A66 in a westerly direction for about 20 miles. Turn left for Thornthwaite a few minutes after the Keswick turns and follow the road.
