Ash Tree House is ideally placed for those wishing to be close to Keswick town centre and all its attractions yet in a peaceful location. Just ten minutes from the busy market town of Keswick, this charming house was built in 1851 and is the former home of the Victorian novelist Tomas Hall Cain. Family run for the last twenty years and retaining many of its period features, the house offers a warm and inviting place to spend a while in the beautful Lake District.
It sits just a few minutes from the impressive Castlerigg Stone Circle, stands on the Coast to Coast cycle route and is an ideal base for those walking the fells or wishing to tour this picturesque area. Walkers of all abilities will delight with the choice available from the famous Catbells with sensational panoramic views over Keswick, or Castlehead, a low wooded hill with splendid views for minimum effort, or Barrow Fell, with 360 degress views, or why not combine a walk with a cruise using the Keswick Launch? The town centre itself has a great selection of shops, plus, tearooms, restaurants, a museum and cinema. There really is something for everyone here - so much so we think you'll be spoiled for choice.
