Abacourt House

The pretty market town of Keswick is home to the stunning Abacourt House, run by John & Heather, located on an elevated position in a quiet cul-de-sac, offering high quality bed and breakfast accommodation. Built in 1894, the traditional Lakeland Slate Victorian town house offers five double en-suite bedrooms which are ideal for a romantic retreat or much needed escape at the stunning Lake District National Park.

Retaining its original pitch pine doors and stairway, Abacourt House has been recently refurbished to provide guests with home-from-home comforts in a friendly and welcoming environment for relaxing amid beautiful surroundings. Guests are invited to take advantage of clean bedrooms offering. Free Fibre Wi-Fi, USB sockets, Freeview televisions, touch lamps, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers, all aimed to make your stay as comfortable as possible – along with a cooked-to-order traditional English breakfasts, served using fresh local produce and delicious Cumberland sausages.

With keys provided upon arrival, guests are free to discover all that the traditional market town of Keswick has to offer at their leisure, from local shops and quaint tea rooms to numerous outdoor stores, bistros, steak houses and oriental restaurants. Abacourt House is also the perfect place for exploring the Lake District, with spectacular walks to Castlerigg Stone Circle to discover the stones constructed in approximately 3200 BC, or why not take a trip across Derwentwater, ascending up Catbells, a very popular and achievable walk for all ages and abilities. An ambassador of the famous Theatre by the Lake, Abacourt House offer resident guests the opportunity to spend an evening at the theatre with discount tickets available with each booking.
Car parking in Keswick is at a great premium. To the rear of the house there is private off street parking.

Location

By road :- At junction 40 of the M6, travel west along the A66 until you reach the second roundabout (approx 17 miles). Ignore any signs for Keswick before this. Turn left and follow the road to a T junction and turn left again. After 40 metres go straight over the mini roundabout and Stanger Street is then 50 metres on the left. Abacourt House is situated 100 metres on the right hand side.

By road :-  On the A591 from Ambleside, Grasmere. Follow signs for Town Centre along Victoria Street and Bank Street. At the end of Bank Street you bear right at the pedestrian crossing junction with Main Street. Stanger Street is 40 metres on the right. Abacourt House is situated approximately 100 metres on the right hand side.

By rail :- The nearest main line station is Penrith where you pick up a bus connection for Keswick just outside the station entrance. Abacourt is a 2 minute walk from Keswick bus station. From the bus station turn left past Booths, 50 metres to mini roundabout, and then right. Stanger Street is then 50 metres on the left. Abacourt House is situated 100 metres on the right hand side.

By Bus:- Keswick bus station is located by Booths Supermarket. From the bus station turn left past Booths, 50 metres to mini roundabout, and then right. Stanger Street is then 50 metres on the left. Abacourt House is situated 100 metres on the right hand side.
