Mick and Sue would like to offer you a very warm welcome to Eden Green Guesthouse, a comfortable Victorian house built in 1878 from traditional Lakeland Slate. Situated on Blencathra Street, we are a few minutes walk from Keswick town centre, a thriving community with restaurants, cafés, real ale pubs, cinema, theatre and various shops. A ten minute walk will take you to the beautiful shores of Derwentwater where you can stand and gaze at the magnificent fells of Catbells, Dodd, Skiddaw, Barth, High Spy, Grisedale Pike, Hopegill Head, Sail, Causey Pike, Robinson, Maiden Moor and Castlecragg

From the breakfast room at the front of the house enjoy the magnificent views of Skiddaw, Latrigg and Blencathra and views of Catbells, Causey Pike and Sail to the rear. For those warm summer evenings there is a small garden at the front of the house with a seating area for guests to enjoy the views of Blencathra, Latrigg and Skiddaw

Breakfast

Start your day with a hearty breakfast in our dining room looking out towards Skiddaw,and Latrigg with a choice of cereals, fresh fruit salads and yogurts, followed by a choice of hot breakfasts. This includes a full English, full vegetarian, smoked salmon or a lighter breakfast. 

All our breakfast ingredients are sourced locally with Cumbrian Sausage and local dry cured bacon provided by Cocklakes Farm. Our free range eggs are delivered from Scales Farm, at Embleton.

We also cater for special diets, but please let us know at the time of booking.

A choice of tea, coffee, fruit juices, and herbal teas are available. 

Whilst you are staying at Eden Green Guesthouse and enjoying the Lakes we want your stay to be as hassle free as possible which is why we offer the following facilities.  


Secure Cycle Storage
We offer secure internal overnight cycle storage.
We also have a selection of tools for minor repairs plus a jet washing facility for those muddy days on the Fells.

Drying Room
For those wet days out on the Fells or on your bike we have a drying room to dry off wet gear and boots/shoes

Packed Lunches
We can provide a packed lunch for a small charge; just let us know the evening before. 

Guest Rooms
All our guest rooms are deluxe and ensuite and we offer one easy access ground floor double bedroom as well as two other double bedrooms. We also have two family/twin rooms which will sleep 2, 3 or 4 people.
  

Location

Eden Green Guesthouse is located in the town of Keswick within the Lake District National Park. It is located some 20 minutes from Junction 40 of the M6. Using motorways from Manchester it takes approximately 2 hours, whilst from the Midlands Keswick is around a 3 hour drive. The average journey time from London is approximately 5 ½ hours. The nearest railway station is at Penrith some 17 miles away and there are flights into the surrounding major cities of Newcastle, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool and Blackpool, about 1 ¾ hours to 2 ½ hours away with car hire or taxis available at the airport.

From the M6 Junction 40 follow the A66 towards the North Lakes/Keswick for 16/17 miles. Leave the A66 at the A591 junction signposted Keswick/Windermere to the bottom of the slip road, take a left. Go downhill to the T Junction, turn right signed Town Centre. Continue past the Twa Dogs pub on your left and the petrol station under the railway bridge and take the 2nd left into Blencathra Street. The road bears sharply round to the right, follow the road and Eden Green is towards the top of the road on your left-hand
