A Foodie Break in Keswick

Day One

Morning - Spend your morning getting your bearings in Keswick browsing some of our lovely shops. Ye Olde Friars sells a huge range of chocolates, shortbread, jams, honeys and mustards whilst The Cheese Deli in Packhorse Court has a large selection of Cumbrian artisan cheese as well as chutneys, jams, crackers, olives, beers, wine, gin - all from local suppliers. Call into Fultons Lakes Jewellery Works and treat yourself to a selection of vegetarian and vegan treats and cappuccino whilst watching jewellery-making in their workshop. Enjoy lunch in one of our many cafes and restaurants - enjoy savoury and sweet crepes at The Wild Strawberry Creperie or if you are looking for a vegetarian or vegan option head to Kat's Kitchen.
Afternoon - Head to Keswick Brewery and discover how they use sheep's wool to make great beers. The craft brewery is only a two-minute walk from the Market Square. Enjoy their brewery tour which includes sampling a selection of their beers. 
Evening - Enjoy a wide selection of locally sourced produce, handpicked for amazing flavours and only the very best mouth-watering meat at Brossen Steakhouse.

Day Two

Morning -  Venture a little further afield today to the north shores of Bassenthwaite Lake to The Lakes Distillery. Enjoy an interactive tour of the state-of-the-art distillery and follow the journey of how the distillery’s spirits are made ending with a tasting of their award-winning spirits. Round off your morning with lunch at The Bistro at the Distillery with a menu focused on local produce and honest hearty flavours.
Afternoon - Don't miss a trip to Booths supermarket to take home a taste of Cumbria.  They develop strong relationships with the best local suppliers, which means you can buy food which is made in Cumbria using time-honoured traditions.
Evening - This evening head to the Borrowdale Valley where Mizu Pan-Asian Cuisine is located at the four-star Lodore Falls Hotel  Offering a selection of tempting Japanese, Korean, Malaysian and Thai specialities, from the freshest ingredients, expertly prepared by highly skilled chefs.

Keswick is home to some mouth-watering local produce and renowned Cumbrian specialities. You will find them all, plus a range of international cuisines, in our restaurants, pubs, shops and cafes.
