Threlkeld is located off the A66 in Cumbria, 4 miles west of Keswick and 13 miles east of Penrith. From Penrith, junction 40 on the M6, follow signs to Keswick and after 13 miles turn right into Threlkeld Village. Do not follow your Sat Nav after this point - the Village Hall is located 0.5 mile along on the left hand side. From Keswick follow signs to Penrith and after 4 miles take the first left signposted Threlkeld. The Village Hall is 0.5 mile along on the right hand side.

During Christian Aid week, St Mary’s church and Threlkeld Activities Association are pleased to host a ceilidh in aid of the charity at Threlkeld Village Hall. Music will be provided by The Travelling Light Ceilidh band. The charity Christian Aid was founded in the 1940's to offer relief and reconciliation in war torn Europe. Today it offers help in over 60 countries, regardless of religion or race, wherever they feel they can alleviate the poverty which robs people of dignity, freedom and hope. Travelling Light have been together for 22 years, originally formed to perform one ceilidh in aid of clean water in Nepal, the concept snowballed and they have been performing ceilidhs ever since. Their fees continue to go to charitable causes. The band format includes up to 12 musicians playing keyboard, guitar, flute, recorder, bodhran, violin, banjo and concertina plus a caller. Come along and enjoy the music and atmosphere and, of course, the dancing. The excellent dance caller means no experience is necessary! The Ceilidh is at Threlkeld Village Hall on 18th May 2018. Dedicated Children’s ceilidh prior to the main ceilidh from 6:15 to 7pm and costing just £1 (pay on the door). The main ceilidh starts at 7:30pm.
