Join Paul, George Fisher staff member, qualified Mountain Leader and Keswick Mountain Rescue Team member for a taster session on navigation and mountain safety. The aim is to boost your personal confidence in using a map and compass to: * navigate safely (including in poor visibility / mist) and to relocate if lost * give your location to mountain rescue if you or your party are injured * plan a route suitable for the weather conditions, including escape routes * understand how a smartphone can help and when a GPS is more useful (This is not a GPS training course, though, this is 'navigation without batteries').
