Felt Art with Marieke Tomlin. Join Marieka for the day and create your very own felt masterpiece. She will bring all the materials necessary for the day, comprising a fabulous choice of vibrant colours in various fleeces and silks. There will be a material charge payable to the tutor directly on the day of between £6 and £10 depending on what is made Marieke is a very talented and largely self-taught felt artist who happened upon the history of felt and felting whilst examining the use of wool in sustainable living and her environment workshops. She loves the fact that many fleeces now sadly discarded by farmers can be reworked through felting into something equally beautiful and useful that will last for many years, so creating a further positive impact locally. With roots in both of Holland and Wales, Marieke now lives in the Eden Valley and runs workshops in textiles, the environment and sustainability, taking inspiration from her beautiful Morland village in the Eden Valley. She is a former student of Debra Esterhuizen who also recognised her considerable talent and has encouraged her throughout. We are very much looking forward to her classes here at Greystoke Quirky Gift Vouchers are now available to buy and download online for all our courses. A perfect present and even better as a last minute gift if the shops or postman has let you down. Please see our website.
