Keswick Music Society presents Sir John Tomlinson (bass) and Christopher Glyn (piano). Sir John is a legendary singer of his generation. His magnificently intense and expressive voice is ideal for both intimate and heroic music, moving in different regards. Here he will be exploring both genres. First, Schubert’s final burst of creativity, the song collection Schwanengesang, his ‘Swansong’ and, after the interval, Wotan’s Journey - all Wotan’s great solos from The Ring – a distillation of the heart of Wagner’s drama. This will be an unforgettable evening and early booking is recommended. Pre-concert talk at 6.45pm.
