I have always had a passion for drawing and in particular drawing animals, big or small domestic or wild I enjoy drawing them! In the twenty years since completing my degree in Design Studies at Wolverhampton University I have been honing my skills completing both pet portraits and studies of wild animals. Earlier this year I was made redundant and have decided to concentrate on my artwork fully. I have recently become a member of the Animal Artists Association and am currently exhibiting with them down in Frodsham. My exhibition in Viridian Gallery in Keswick that showcases all of my recent ink work as well as some digital art produced on my ipad, in the past I have to some extent shied away from colour but as the title of my Exhibition suggests this is my colour revolution. My subject matter is animals British Wildlife at the moment and the inspiration for my current work is a very talented photographer called Steve Wrightson. I still love drawing with pencil and ink so all of my more colourful works are based on work I have carried out physically. My colour work using the ipad allows me to play with my pallet and really enjoy myself – but the strange thing that I am still not quite used to is the fact that there is no physical original. My coloured pieces are all small limited editions /25, and although there will be cards in the future once an edition runs out that’s it! The black and white Limited Editions will be of /150 and there are originals though some have already sold.
