‘A meditation rose in me that night upon the lonely mountain when the scene had passed away, and it appeared to me the perfect image of a mighty mind’, wrote Wordsworth in The Prelude. We will be reflecting on Wordsworth’s approach to mindfulness and contemplation, and developing our own in a workshop with Steve Johnson, a local mindfulness teacher. Using mindfulness practices including meditation, mindful movement, sense awareness and connection to nature you will learn to engage more fully with your surroundings and develop skills that can improve your well-being and help with the demands of everyday life. There will be three workshops this year (April, July, October), and you can come to one or more as the exercises will change with the seasons.
