An immaculate, characterful and elegant Victorian guest house of lakeland slate in an elevated position with extensive views of the magnificent surrounding mountains from the rooms. Peacefully located just one minutes` walk from Keswick centre, Thornleigh has the added bonus of parking availability for guests.

Pristine accommodation consisting of spacious, comfortable, all en-suite bedrooms, sympathetically refurbished. All rooms have quality bespoke furniture, co-ordinated soft furnishings, individual central heating controls and are maintained to exacting standards giving a relaxed and informal base from which to explore Keswick and the Lake District.

Thornleigh is an ideal base for touring, sightseeing and walking. It is a friendly place to stay and is professionally and personally run by the resident owners Jill and Graham. We offer you a very warm welcome and can make suggestions for your itinerary using our local knowledge.

As experienced mountain walkers we offer a library of walking books, maps and guides and personal advice on the finest high/low level walking routes and climbs. Drying facilities are available.

We serve delicious fresh breakfasts (full english, continental, vegetarian, special diet) using local produce where possible.

Thornleigh is a short stroll from the amenities of the town, restaurants and the shores of Derwenterwater. Our guests return again and again for our high standards of hospitality and comfort which are among the very best on offer in Keswick.

Location

Travel to Junction 40 on the M6 (Penrith, Cumbria)
- Follow the A66 towards Keswick and the North Lakes
- After approximately 17 miles leave the A66 at the first junction marked Keswick
- Follow signs for Keswick town centre.
- Stay on this road. You will pass a pedestrian crossing just after a cross roads, and then Bell Close Car park on your left.
- We are opposite the far end of the car park, on the right .
