Relax and unwind at Leonard's Field House, our comfortable 4 star Victorian Guest House,nestling in the small charming Cumbrian market town of Keswick, surrounded by breathtaking, magnificent mountains and outstanding scenery. Leonard’s Field House takes its name from the area on which the property stands, and is one of the earliest properties built in this area of Keswick, as featured in the recently issued publication “Keswick Now and Then”.
Neil and Theresa extend a warm welcome to all Leonard’s Field House past and future guests.
Our mission is to create and maintain a real ‘home from home’ atmosphere offering traditional values in comfortable surroundings and great value for money.
Leonard’s Field House is ideally placed to discover the charm of the market town and its many attractions, restaurants and eating establishments on offer, whilst situated only a 2 minute level walk from the centre of Keswick in the heart of the Lake District National Park. Nearby are the lakes of Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite and the popular Fitz and Hope Parks. You can try your hand at Crazy Golf in Hope Park, ten minutes stroll away or maybe a game of tennis or bowls in Fitz Park, located a few minutes away. Many popular walking routes can literally be started from the front door.
The Bus Station is located just ten minutes away or we can direct you to a popular bus stop just a few minutes from our door.
As outdoor enthusiasts and keen walkers ourselves, we are well placed to provide invaluable assistance on planning your stay in the Lake District. We have spent many enjoyable years exploring Keswick and the surroundings that encompass the Lake District, be it on foot, cycle or by car, and have acquired a wealth of experiences and knowledge to share with you, our guests, and enable us to help you make the most of your visit
We offer a light and airy Guest Lounge and provide secure lock-up facilities for bikes and motorbikes.
To set you up for the day, we offer a variety of breakfast combinations as well as the traditional Full English.We use locallly sourced products, where available and our sausages are prepared by local renown butchers 'Thomasons' on the high street.
GLUTEN FREE breakfasts are a speciality. Theresa is a COELIAC herself and has set part of the kitchen aside for the sole preparation of GLUTEN FREE cooking. We can prepare many GLUTEN FREE breakfast combinations, packed lunches and evening meals, when available, without any fear of cross contamination. There is no extra charge for this facility.
After a day spent exploring Keswick, what better than to relax at the year-round professional Theatre-by-the-Lake located at the Derwentwater shore, a gentle 15 minute stroll from our door. The core programme is home-produced professional drama productions, including a six month summer season of six plays in repertoire, a major Christmas production and at least one other production in the Spring of each year. As a Theatre-by-the-Lake Ambassador we are able to provide discounts on the best seats to a superb variety of shows and plays.
